Carpark Consultations
Unwell with cold, flu or upper respiratory symptoms, but need to see your doctor?
We can help.
To keep cold and flu symptoms out of the clinic, the practitioners we support offer their patients the option to have a ‘carpark consultation’ which can be booked through reception or online.
When arriving to the clinic, head to the left of the carpark and you’ll see a carport. Park here and call reception who will notify your practitioner of your arrival.
Your doctor will attend to you when they are ready. -
Telehealth
Good News! Telehealt consultations with your practitioner is here to stay.
However there is still a criteria that must be met to qualify for rebatable telehealth appointments.
Some of these include having seen your doctor face-to-face at least once in the last 12 months, children under 12 months and if you’re homeless.
If a CHILD is having a Telehealth appointment, the child MUST be present with the parent - this is a Medicare requirement.
Please speak with reception for more information about whether your practitioner is willing to offer you a telehealth appointment.
FEES may be applicable for all Telehealth consultations, including Telehealth consultations on Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday 6pm to 8pm - this is at your practitioner’s discretion.
Pensioners and children under the age of 16 years old may be bulk billed - this is at your practitioners discretion.
-
Test Results
We recommend you book an appointment in advance with your practitioner, to discuss all test results.
A phone consultation may be available, see “Telehealth” book or speak to reception for more information.
Your practitioner will advise if you will receive results in another way.
Non-urgent recalls are sent via a secure SMS through HotDoc. -
Medical Certificates and Referrals
A consultation is required by law to obtain a Medical Certificate.
All patients are encouraged to present early in illness as your practitioner cannot back-date certificates.
Referrals also require an appointment with your practitioner. Please book a standard appointment for these requests, unless multiple concerns are needing to be addressed - in this instance booking a longer appointment is advised by the practitioners we support.
-
Prescriptions
The practitioners we support encourge their patients to have a consultation for repeat prescriptions, so medical care can be reviewed at the same time.
Please remember, the practitioners we support reserve the right to refuse to prescribe certain medications if they believe there are sufficient clinical grounds to do so.Important:
It is the practice of the Practitioners we support that no drugs of addiction will be given at initial visits for new patients. -
Phone Calls
You may leave a message with reception requesting your doctor to return your call. When doctors are consulting they are usually unable to take telephone calls from patients, but they may return your call as soon as possible which may be either at lunchtime, at the end of their sessions or in the evening.
Any requests for prescriptions or referrals require a standard appointment with your practitioner. With telehealth options available (subject to criteria and your practitioner’s approval), reception can assist in booking this for you.
-
Billing
The practitioners we support may offer bulk-billing throughout the week for Pension Card holders, DVA and children under 16 years old.
Saturday appointments, Tuesday and Thusday 6pm to 8pm incur a fee.
The practitioners we support require that all their patient’s payments are to be settled on the day of consultation and we have the facilities to process the Medicare rebate on-site.
If you are experiencing financial hardship, please discuss this with your practitioner.
-
Home Visits
Home Visits are only made at your practitioner’s discretion to their known patients, if appropriate. These may be within their normal consulting hours when attendance at the surgery may be physically impossible.
Your practitioners do not offer this as an alternative option to standard appointments.
